Ronnie James Dio died yesterday :(
17 May 2010
This is heart-breaking news for me.
Ronnie James Dio is, and probably always be my favorite singer. Whether it be with Rainbow, Black Sabbath or with his own band as Dio; even with the early Elf.
I was finally going to see him live with Black Sabbath at the end of June. Actually he was the primary reason I was even going to the festival.
I am at a loss of words.
Fade away, fade away… :(

Doubtlessly, it couldn’t be more mournful. But we all know he will live on forever through his musical legacy.
Goodbye, Ronnie James Dio. Now, you’re IMMORTAL.
R.I.P.

Ronnie was a big part of my musical life the last 30 some years, and I fell in love with his voice the first time I heard Man on the Silver Mountain. Then I saw him fronting Sabbath on the Mob Rules tour – that’s what I’m listening to right now. Well done sir – you will be missed.

R.I.P.” I couldn’t have said it any better. Rock in Paradise Ronnie. :) On a side note, you have really put this new site together well. I think it’s even better than your previous blogs. Thank you for all the great music, especially Ronnie’s work. Cheers.

One of the greatest singers ever. Wonderful voice and so many good songs. This talented guy is history of rock.
You always imagine that special people like Him never die. But we are just as, in Autumn, leaves on the trees. It’s so sad…
We can only pray for Him.
Rest in peace Ronnie.

His voice is silenced, but the echoes will be a long time dying out.

I too was hooked as a fan the first time I heard Man on the Silver Mountain. I was lucky enough to see him with Balck Sabbath on the Heaven and Hell Tour right after I graduated from high school. His music has been a part o the soundtrack of my life for over 30 years.
You will be missed Ronnie, but now you are jamming with Cozy again.

I always liked him best in Elf, pre-Rainbow. His real name was Ronald James Pardovana…Requiescat In Pace.
